How did you get into cooking?
I grew up in kitchens - both at home and at my parents' pizzeria. I once got suspended from school. As punishment, my parents made me work at the pizzeria from opening ’til closing. It was the best week of my life, and I've never stopped cooking!
Where was your first professional kitchen experience?
The Ferncroft Sheraton in Danvers.
What is your favorite dish to prepare?
At the moment, it's ancho chili-blood orange braised short ribs with hominy mash, and grilled corn with cilantro butter.
What is the best part of your job?
Having fun with food, and sharing that fun with my family, friends and customers
Who is your favorite chef in Boston?
Anna Sortun of Oleana.
What do you usually make for yourself at home?
Any kind of grilled meat.
