Friends Against Violence to host its 1st Annual Scavengah Hunt
Put your knowledge of Boston to the test for a good cause
Looking for a great way to enjoy the city on these last few sunny summer days? Did you always think you would make a great contestant on the Amazing Race? On September 18th Friends Against Violence will host its 1st Annual Great Boston Scavengah Hunt! Put your knowledge of the city and its landmarks to the test as you use your quick thinking skills to navigate around Boston snapping pictures and solving riddles.
Teams can consist of 2 to 5 members and while not required, themed uniforms are highly encouraged so get creative in showing your hometown pride or whatever crazy idea you can come up with! Other than team spirit all groups will need a backpack, digital camera with USB cable, and a $20 donation from each member of your team.
The Scavengah Hunt is a 21 and over event and will kick off at popular nightspot Sissy K's. Participants should be there by 11:30 A.M. in order to organize your teams and review the rules. Teams will then be sent out into the city to complete the scavenger hunt but must be back at Sissy K's at 4 P.M. to add up scores, announce the winners and hand out some prizes.
Not only is this a great way to get out and enjoy Boston, its also providing for a wonderful local cause. Proceeds from each player's donations will go to The Second Step in Newton, MA. Since 1992 The Second Step has been offering a variety of support and assistance programs for the victims of domestic violence including transitional housing, mentoring and legal management.
